Trading My Gray for a Rainbow

Take my black veil away
Let me see the light of day
If only a glimmer, let it stay
Under the sun’s cleansing rays
For so long I’ve been wrapped in gray
Singing dirges, I slowly decay
In the distance
I try as I may
I see the form of a rainbow through the rain
New life revives
Of rebirth, I imbibe
Someday the rainbow will be mine
I will become more fully alive
As I go
I will grow
Becoming more fully divine
