The Little Mermaid Musical

I have always been a Disney nerd.   I have seen Lion King, Beauty and the Beast and Mary Poppins all on stage.  I watched Aladdin on YouTube, saw it in the theatre recently and not too long ago, thrilled to the darkest version of Hunchback of Notre Dame, which is also available to watch from YouTube.   Little Mermaid follows the Disney story but there is a bit of a twist.   Ursula is Ariel's aunt , which I thought was a nice little detail the animated version never had.   It explains Ursula's ambitions more than anything else.   The music was excellent, the costumes were beautiful and the cast was stupendous.   Everyone was perfect for their role, even Flounder, who was absolutely cuter than a bug's ear !   Flounder, Flotsam and Jetsam came in on Heelies, which was a cool innovative way to introduce these characters.   Skuttle had a tap chorus scene: Posituvity, which was fantastic.  His character really reminds me of SpongeBob.   I don't know if that was intentional b

Climate Change

Cocoa in May Cocoa in May It's so chilly, so what can I say ? Bipolar weather getting me down Making people edgy, making them frown People say climate change isn't a thing Evidence is rampant, that's the thing ! I have my mug here, so what else is to know ? I only pray in June, we're spared of snow ! 5-25-19

Volte

Over the weekend I had the undisputed privilege to see Cirque du Soleil's 'Volte'.   It's the story of a young man who is trying to find himself in the world.   He's out of place and he tends to get lost within a sea of technology.   People make fun of him and how he looks.   It speaks volumes to how cruel some can be, but the power of love overcomes all and our main character realizes just how important that is in his life.   The story itself is incredible.  There is even a clown act which is absolutely hilarious which really highlights life in general.   The first schtick is a washer and dryer that have gone bad, and go horribly wrong.  The dryer is inter-dimensional.   That in and of itself is worth the price of admission.   Every act was death-defying and intense.   All the stunts were insane and audacious.    Everything was phenomenal.   My favorite act was the lady that hung by her hair.   Interestingly, this art is nothing new.   Chinese people have been doin

Raj's Romance

Synopsis: Taking place after the events of Mohabbitein. Raj is now a music professor at Gurukul and his once-enemy, Principal Shankar, is now his closest friend. He is Raj’s true father-in-law. Raj encounters Kahan, a somewhat demure woman with the voice of an Angel. He feels his heart drawn to her but does not want to betray the love he has for Megha. Chapter 1—A New Semester Begins Gurukul had been completely transformed. The days were full of merriment and music. Even the formerly stodgy, stoic, hard-hearted Principal Shankar had found a new wife named Majoor. She was fair, enchanting and loved playing the flute. She often cooked the students meals and spoiled them with the most lavish desserts. The Principal noticed that Raj was still hanging on to Megha. Admirable though it was, he felt his heart breaking for his son-in-law. That night, Megha came to Narayan in his dreams. ‘Father, please. Talk to Raj. He’ll listen to you

Heartbroken

Stop the pain Stop the bleeding Stop the heartache I am feeling I thought it was love But it wasn’t me you were thinking of You had your papers, you were set You cheated on me, my heart’s been wrecked Tears like rivers until the well’s run dry My heart withers until it eventually dries I wish I could harden my heart Everytime I give love a new start This always happens to me Love blinds, making the wise foolhardy I want to love To no longer be alone For the feeling of warmth in my home I’m tired of feely empty Tired, tired of being lonely See, it’s a dichotomy All I ask is why ? Why can’t it be ? All I long for is love A family to care and think of Yes, this is quite hard work But my duty I’d never shirk It rolls down to me I’m a self-fulfilling prophecy I guess that’s it I’m supposed to be alone I guess I have to travel this road alone. 5-13-19

The Wrath of Kublah Khan, The Secret of Disney's Eternal Inkwell

Synopsis: Continuing from "The Darkest Hour". Evil Toon-hater Kubla Khan seeks to destroy the source of Disney Magic, the Eternal Inkwell. The Power Rangers and their compatriots must stop him before all Toon Power is eradicated. Meanwhile, Helen Henny-Cheese discovered that she is pregnant. Chapter 1—Sulking in the Shadows Kubla Khan grumbled in the shadows. So much of his life, he had been a magician, loved by many and revered by other illusionists for ages. Since street magicians like Chris Angel had become more popular, his sleight of hand had become obsolete. Kubla was also old and his latest acts had become overtaken by toons. He had begun to loathe and abhor toons for robbing him of his one source of income. Their youth seemed to have no bounds. Through intensive research, he came upon a mystical object known as The Eternal Inkwell . This Inkwell belonged to none other than Walt Disney himself. The mystical object had given its
