Dominique La Trek and Anne Bonny's Treasure

A/N:   It’s been a hot minute since I’ve written anything about my own anti-hero, Dominique.   I never really had a solid origin for her until now, which she so richly deserves.    Table of Contents Chapter 1—Dominique La Trek, Renaissance Woman Chapter 2—Club Twenty-Seven Chapter 3—Gunman With a Heart of Gold Chapter 4—Part of the Gang Epilogue     Chapter 1—Dominique La Trek, Renaissance Woman                 It was a particularly sunny Sunday when Dominique was born.   Her mother gave her away to the Romani camp nearby, who subsequently raised her and taught her everything she knew.    She had the gift of gab and an enchanting personality.    She could grift and haggle with the best of them, never backing down until she grabbed the best deals.    She learned swordsmanship from the Gypsy King, Dioval La Trek, who was t...

A Brit Trip With Freakazoid

A/N: A sequel to ‘A Lovely Shade of Blue’, we get to meet Basil Peters and his tremendous family.    Table of Contents Chapter 1—Meeting An Old Mate Chapter 2—The Grand Tour Chapter 3—High Tea with the Locals Chapter 4—More Historic Sites Chapter 5—Flying Home Epilogue     Chapter 1—Meeting An Old Mate                 Dexter and Stephanie were thrilled to be having their anniversary in England.    It wasn’t anything new perse, but Luke and Leia would be seeing Great Britain for the first time.    They would also be meeting Madame Blue, Britannica, and Squire for the first time.                    ‘Hey, dad !   How long has it been since you and mom were in Basil, I mean Lord Bravery’s neck of the woods ?’, Luke asked, inquisitively.    Dexter he...

So Long, Shoestring

After what seemed to be seven excruciating days, my intuition proved to be correct once again.  Troy, aka 'Anywhere Man' on TikTok, had come out with the shocking news that Mark Nichols (aka Hobo Shoestring) had been missing since March 26th.   It was reported that he had gone to the ER and exited quickly but supposedly, he was rather erratic, confused, and not at all himself.   After going home, he was then reported missing and all that had been found in his house were his phone, wallet, keys and kit.  Hobo had been without kit and other equipment before, but this was different because of his disorientation.  This was definitely out of character for Mark.   The moment I heard he was missing, a vision popped in my mind of the lake near his property.   Today, sadly, I find that my ESP was right on the money.   Although Troy didn't say whether the body found in the lake was Mark's, I think we can all conclude that...

Busy Like a Beaver

Seems to me that things have picked up again once more.   Unfortunately, my roommate lost a cat not long ago.   Sadly, he had the same UTI issues as his brother, Butthead did.   Just in case you were wondering, his name was Beavis, appropriately.    Both of them were exquisitely affectionate little orange and white tiger boys that had no enemies or grudges, but I never met Butthead.   Butthead had to be put to sleep due to squamous cell carcinoma, and no one, nothing  needs to die in that sort of excruciating, crucifying pain.    Beavis had it easier.   His kidneys quit and he simply became weaker.   Friday evening he expired and I dug the hole for the sweet little nipper.    I already miss him and I've done a lot of crying over him, but I know he's up in Heaven running around with his brother and most likely all the other animals up there.    Tomorrow, I'm uncertain whether we...

Rolling like the Tide

To be fair, I don't entirely know where 2024 will be taking me as far as travels are concerned.   My roommate John and I are planning on photographing the eclipse and a coworker has already voiced interest in purchasing prints of the solar transit.   I still believe that his photo of the blood moon would make serious cash, especially as a print on a T-shirt, and I would GLADLY be the marketing executive and ambassador behind it.   I have to use this MBA for something , you know ?     We had quite the snowfall as I predicted this year.  I don't want to jinx it but it seems that spring has come somewhat early.  It's still a bit soon in the year, Puxatawny didn't see his shadow (weather does what it will and Phil is usually wrong more often than not) but we'll see how long the pleasant weather holds out.   I recently saw the roster for this year's PopCon.  I'd love to attend because MY BOY, Dante, my BRO is gonna be ther...

Fresh Snowfall

A blanket of snow covers my blue car Small flakes float freely It hasn’t been like this since childhood And I maintain my awe The chill doesn’t irk me I simply gaze at diamond fields As multiple geese flock to lakes And crows search for scraps All among this beauty Nothing is taken for granted And I thank the One who made it Since nature is my passion.   1-29-24

One More Time

I can't help but hear the familiar tune that takes me back to my college days back at University as I type that title !   Not too far from today, January 11th, will be the final time that we venture into Sonic Prime territory.   There's already been a sneak peak on YouTube and from what I see, it pulls no punches and catapults us directly back into the action where we left off when we last saw Sonic speaking with Nine.       I am definitely ready to tackle this new season of Prime and then write my final fanfiction with BrightStarAngie.   If we're lucky and depending on Jaleel's schedule, the both of us are hoping that we will be able to conduct an interview with him and ask him questions about Sonic Underground.  I honestly want to ask him about Saturday Morning Sonic the Hedgehog because that, Archie's Sonic (not Ken Penders, NO we're not mentioning him again !) and IDW's STH are the best versions out there other than the m...
