Reaching Out

 Arms extended to your embrace

I encounter empty space

In the place where you once were

Is silence and hope deferred

I won't give up, for love will win

This space I'll occupy again

My heart open to my red thread

The fulfillment of a comfy bed

The house will have both you and I

We won't need a reason why

Even if we tend to cry

I continue reaching by and by

A hand to hold, a trusted friend

Going where'er the roads will wend

One day I'll hold my arms out wide

You'll greet me on the other side.
