Slightly Forlorn



Supervisor’s 6 year anniversary is today 

Coworker had a baby, so yea ? 

I want to be happy 

Don’t want to complain 

I’m slightly forlorn 

Blame my critical brain 

Everything else is A-OK

But lack of love life 

Drives me insane 

Caretaking flushed my social life down the drain 

I’ve only got myself to blame 

So I put on a smile 

It’s a facade

Want to feel happy, but feel kinda blah 

Anxious avoidant for goodness sake 

Loneliness rarely gives me a break 

One day, the sun will shine  again 

But I’m slightly forlorn

Don’t mean to complain.
