Colorful Glow

It’s that time of year again

When houses become fanciful 

Everything glitters 

All colors of the spectrum shine 

Not a single hue is left alone to sparkle solo

I’m filled with warmth

Hope overflows and I can’t help but share

A smile glistens on my face

I’m 7 again

Gorging myself on too many sweets

I’m a happy little elf

Spreading Christmas cheer

Marveling at the wonderlands I see

‘Til I grow sleepy

And sugar plums invade my dreams.
