The Open Road

Give me the road less traveled by
Not the common highway
I prefer the byway
Or country pathway
The scenery steals my heart
The sweet scent of loam fills my airways
I bask in the rural sun rays
Quiet, not hectic
A day away, away from the city
The open road calls
I turn on my radio
Loud as it goes
Where I’m going, who knows ?
Down the wide open road.
