Forest Forces: The Green Warfare, Part II, Unlikely Allies

Synopsis:  Taking where part I left off, the squirrels see it is advantageous to recruit the raccoons into their ever growing armada.  The fight moves into the countryside and more characters are introduced.  Even domesticated animals are a threat to the squirrels but our fiesty heroes don't take any guff from them.

Scene 1--On the Edge of Verdency
Persephone:  (huddled together with her family, bracing against the gelid temperatures, all shivering in spite of their efforts, narrating)  Along our way to Verdency, we met a knot of snakes passing through.
Longfellow:   Pay no heed to us black snakes.
Blackberry:  Like the garters next to us, we mean ya'll no harm.
Nettle:  Bramble and I though, we get a bad rap.   We'll only bite ya if ya provoke us.
Bramble:  Nettle speaks the truth.   Besides, we're more of a threat to the bipeds.  Don't much like us, we don't much like them.  It's mutual.
Longfellow:  Heard you're headin' into 'no animals land'.  Pretty nervy if'n ya ask me.
Scourge:  We wish ya'll luck.   Not like you lot are gonna need it.   Ya seem pretty well prepared for any and everything.
Persephone:  (narrating)  Scourge was correct on that account.  Meladasia had thought of every possible outcome in advance.   In that aspect, my sister could've been thought of as a prophet, but revenge and hatred were what drove her to conquer what used to be our land centuries before bipeds ever graced the scene.
Longfellow:  I wish all of you the best of everything.   You have our blessings.
(sings 'Longfellows' Song')
Persephone:  (narrating)  That little folk tune was exactly what we needed to lift our spirits.   (A map appears on the screen indicating our heroes' progress.  Right as they nearly make it to the edge of what is known as 'protected lands', they are met by their foes, once again.  All of them at once.)
Fury:   Meladasia.   Surprising you would be here.   I didn't suspect you'd make it this far with the winds howling all around you.
Maladasia:   Silence.   Why can't you allow me one victory ?
Fury:  Ah, but that would be too easy.    As you can see, you're clearly surrounded.
Namor:  A lot of us are starving.
Loki:   All of you are beginning to look pretty delicious.
Cinder:  Won't you be so kind and join us for dinner ?
Pip:  How about no ?   Hate to be rude !
Fallow:   None of you have a choice.   This can be done one of two ways.  Either you can surrender and come quietly or we can throw down...

Scene 2--Enter the Rag Tag Crew
Persephone:   (Narrating)  It was seeming excessively grim at the time until we heard manic whoops and hollers coming out of nowhere, accompanied by singing of all things...
('Born to be Bad')
Ceasar:   Get lost !  Yeah, you, I'm talkin' to you !   Go on !   Scram !
Forlorn:   We didn't know the Rag Tag Crew was with you.
Cyclone:  Foiled again !
Bridget:   Who are you guys ?
Ace:   We're the Rag Tag Crew.   Like our rides, sweet cheeks ?
Bridget:  (blushes hot)  I can say, they are mighty impressive.
Juliana:   All hand built from supplies found in the dump in the Netherworld.
Scout:  You've been to Emiteville ?
Sassy:  Sure have, and none of us have lost our sanity.
Furio:   We go to Emiteville quite a bit for supplies, but mostly for food.
Joker:   The biped world is rife with remarkable, ambrosial food !   Most of it, those prodigals just throw away.   Criminal really.
Maladasia:  Why did you help us ?   There really wasn't anything to be gained.
Ceasar:   I've heard about you, m'lady.   You are the reigning queen of Oakenridge.   From what I hear via the birds, you want to expand your reign.
Maladasia:  All accurate, I must attest.
Ceasar:  We know Emiteville, and should you ever need our assistance, we'll be more than glad to help.
Ace:  Just call on the Rag Tags.   Here !  (throws a whistle her way)  If ya need us, just blow, hard and loud.  We'll come runnin !
Juliana:   You can always count on us.
Maverick:   Racoons always keep their word.   Our cousins, the opossums, they'll give you a paw too.   (whispers)  Just to be fair though, they ain't really too bright.  So, heed their advice sparingly.
Caesar:   Our work is done here.   But just remember us, if you need anything at all...
All:  Blow the whistle.
Persephone:  (narrating)  Realizing that they had stated they were all sane made me question my own mental stability by continuing to follow along after my sister.   Funny thing is, I never would've gotten to meet any farm creatures had I not supported her and stayed behind to watch the Twiggenthrone.   We met sheep, goats, pigs, cows, chickens, turkeys and even ran across some wild hogs that liked to raid the biped's crops.   Of course, their feisty Australian Sheepdog, Blue, kept the hogs from doing too much damage.
Scene 3--Country Living But Not For Long
(The verdant countryside seems ideal for all of our squirrels and company as they begin to set up residence in the trees, but Maladasia doesn't seem to be content with simply abiding with the property she has usurped/conquered simply by setting up a stronghold and not having to overcome any resistance.)
Maladasia:   Emriteville isn't so bad as all the old squirrels' tales told us !  (laughs a bit overconfidently)
Persephone:  Glad to see you are in a merry mood today, sister.
Maladasia:  And why shouldn't I be, Perse ?  I have come so far and conquered so much land.  All without even moving my pinky finger !   (chuckles again)   Thing is, I want more.
Persephone:  (sarcastically)  Of course you do.   Sister, why can't you be happy that we've made it this far and survived ?   We could've been eaten by those predators.
Maladasia:   (patting her sister's paw gently and reprovingly)  Perse, I'm well aware of that.   We shouldn't dally though.   These new subjects of mine need to know who I am and come to respect me.
Persephone:  (rolling her eyes out of view from her beloved sister, narrating)  When Maladasia had her heart set on something she was unstoppable.    She spoke to every animal of this new and strange land, including the domesticated pets.   I was a bit leery of them, but she showed absolute fearlessness in laying down the law of what was now 'her land'.
Hamlet:  Have you met the new 'Queen' ?
Snorkle:  Lady Maladasia ?   (snorts)  Yeh.   I met her.   She ain't afeared o' nuttin.
Bubba:  (wobbling along)   I heard that she was met by predators on the way here.  Heard she faced them down herself with her posse !
(All farm animals start chattering amongst themselves boasting about Maladasia's bravery.)
Sunshine:   (non-plussed, unimpressed)  Yeah, so ?  Big deal.   I'd like to see her take on the weasels that slip in here in the middle of the night.   (shudders) Those guys give me the heebie jeebies.
Henrietta:  (feathers ruffle)  You're tellin' me, Sunshine.   None of us chickens like the weasels too much.  We've lost quite a few chicks due to their antics.   I'm just glad you keep out the mice from our cushy henhouse.
Sunshine:  Think nothing of it, Henrietta.
Rosalee:   (hearing some low, menacing snickers)  D-did y'all hear that ?
Buff:  Sounded ominous.
Jinx:  (coming out of nowhere)  Hello !
(They all shriek)
Winkledale:  Weasles !   I'm outta here !   (scampers off)
Goldie:  Winkledale, you coward, come back !   On second thought, wait up !
(All the animals begin to panic but the roosters start to stand up to the weasles, only to have a knock-down, drag out fight.)
Grumpy:   Call the squirrels, they'll know what to do.
Persephone:   Grumpy was wrong.   So much misinformation had been spread by word of mouth that they believed my sister had taken on predators alone.   She was staring down the jagged teeth of the leader of the weasles, Trickster when her whistle was knocked out of her paw.   We were terribly outnumbered.   That is, until the bipeds came home and shots rang out.    We didn't see anything because we had blacked out due to terror.    We surely thought this is the end but we couldn't have been more wrong.
(Scene transition)
Scene 4--Strangeness and Inexplicable Happenings
Maladasia:   (holding her temples, a bit groggy)  Where in Terra are we ?
Persephone:  I don't know, dear.   Look at all these clothes though.  How is it we can still breathe ?
Pip:  I think this is called a suitcase.   See this ?  It's a zipper.  That's how we're getting oxygen in wherever this dark void is.    Seph, I'm scared...
Persephone:  Don't be, Pip.   I'm thinking we'll be alright, somehow.   I have faith.
Maladasia:   We just have to accept whatever is and let the fates decide.
Sinclair:   I suppose Her Highness is right.   Holding paws will make it a little bit easier though.    We'll get through this together.   (holds Persephone's paws along with that of her pups.  Maladasia joins in but rather reluctantly until she realizes it is extremely calming.)
Persephone:  (narrating)  We hadn't know it at the time but we had literally left the ground in a device called a jet.   We were well on our way to a strange place where we knew no one and knew nothing of the land.   We all came to an epiphany we had to learn quickly or we would never return to our homelands again.
(The dreaded words 'To Be Continued' on the screen but it is not the end.)
