Projects In Mind

Recently, I was inspired by something Bobbie Lancaster said at the Goban Summer Concert Series about how lucky we are to have programs like the one she had been singing at (and she's right), but I thought, 'What if I had a collaboration of different voices much like hers in a book surrounding Putnam County residents and the funds could go to different organizations that could us it, like PCRC, Beyond Homeless, programs for low-income individuals and so forth ?'   What I am proposing is a book called 'The Places That Define Us' and lots of people will be interviewed for it whether creative or not.  They could be just an average Joe who provides a service, like Jake the Barber.    Just think of the stories people will read and maybe they can find solace, comfort and inspiration too !   We are blessed !

The second idea I had I'm labeling 'Ink on Ink'.  I have always loved tattoos while growing up but hate needles and loathe pain, so I decided to keep my canvas clean (plus I have an illogical fear of my body being disallowed burial back at my plot, and I'm not Jewish !).   It will cover the history of tats, tattoo artists and the people who tattoo themselves.

The third is a more personal book that I need my lovely Aunt Jeannie's assistance on.  Currently, the beautiful lake house is on very shaky ground.   As of writing this blog I do not know the status of the respite.   Last I spoke to my aunt, cousin Kenny was still moving furniture into it.   In my opinion it has taken far too long to get all of this done, but the again I don't know the proceedings so I am not going to cast aspersions on the legalities that go into properties like this one.   Anyways, it's possible that the property will be for sale if no one has rented it by 8/1 (been and gone, fellas).   I don't know anything because Jeannie hasn't texted me about it but I want to write a book called 'Lake Life' concerning the history of what I'm labelling 'The Lovely Lake House of Lake Tippecanoe'.    (That will be the subtitle).

Stay tuned for more.  Also happening this week, a Gathering of the People (and Buffalo Child was there from one of my favorite movies of all time, Dances With Wolves) and Hobo Fest.   Our good friend Shabazz is there kicking back with the hobos and travelers.  We weren't able to attend but maybe we can go back.  I feel more at home with the tribe and the travelers than anyone else.
