Shredder's Nefarious Scheme

Synopsis:  A sequel to ‘Return to Universal Studios’.   The Power Rangers Zeo and their multiversal allies (including the TMNTs) are reunited when Oroku Saki sets his sights on the Rangers' robot friends.

Chapter 1--Building a Subservient AI Hoard

While Shredder’s most trusted scientists set the final frequency to the omarosa crystals, luckily found by Rocksteady and Bebop, he stood back, filled with hubris, admiring his accomplishments.
‘Turn on the amplifier.  It’s time to build my robot army.’, he commanded.   The scientists snapped to attention and quickly obeyed.   They, like the foot, had no choice.  Shredder wasn’t cruel though.  He had given them a place to call home, exceptional food and clothing on their backs.   They even had stupendous accidental d&d insurance they could use and health care.  Being Foot soldiers they needed it.  They could simply approach the scientists if they were ill but none of them ever had ailments that serious.

Once the ray had been activated, the frequency had been turned up to 11 on the dial.   Fairly soon, peoples ‘pet’ robots were starting to swarm to Shredder’s lair, even Alpha and his friends were subject to its power.   Even though they tried to fight the allure of the omarosa crystal, its siren song was irresistible.    Before they knew it, they were standing in front of him, awaiting their next command.

Chapter 2--Asimov Warned Against This !

'We await your orders, Master Shredder. What can we do for you?', Somnibot asked, emotion nearly drained from her voice.  SICO, though heavily pregnant, was under the sway of Shredder’s hypnotic frequency amplifier, only followed the sound of his voice.    One of the henchmen decided to develop a conscious momentarily.
‘Asimov warned us against this.’, he whispered to another foot soldier, clearly shaken to his core.
‘Open the doors !   All of you, bring me my enemies.   Bring them to me alive.  I have plans for them later.’, Shredder bellowed.    Literally, like a well-oiled machine, the robots marched out and began creating panic, havoc and terror to round up the turtles.  Although the turtles fought valiantly,  they were no match for the robots that corned them into submission.   Mona Lisa, a friend that was now a resident of the sewers due to her reptilian appearance, had been hogtied like the rest of them and didn’t care for it much.   However, she had a beacon the Rangers had given her and the rest of the turtles in case of emergency that she could turn on with a flick of her tail.
‘Now all we have to do is wait.’, she mused to herself, paired to a cell with her friend Venus, who, despite the clammy nature of the cell was collected and zen in such horrid confinement.

Chapter 3--Robot Apocalypse

'WHERE'S ALPHA?!', Kimberly screamed in pure panic.
'Looks like Delta and the others have disappeared too !', Aisha panicked.
Adam, Zach, Tommy, Billy and Jason immediately felt the discord in the room but kept their thoughts positive and their breathing deep and mindful.
‘The beacon’s going off.  That can only mean one thing.’, Adam noted.
‘They’ve kidnapped the turles.’, Zach concluded.
‘I think it’s worse than that.’, Billy said, turning on the TV.   Zordon, awakened by the sounds of clamoring, knew what had to be done.
‘It’s the worst sort of apocalypse I have ever witnessed.   We need all the heroes we can muster.   I’ve sent out a rallying cry to anyone willing and able to assist us.   We will have to fight against our own allies until I figure out a method of disrupting Shredder’s omarosa ray.  Even if that thing is destroyed the crystals will resonate without it.’, Zordon lamented.   Billy knew that he needed to contact the Dino Thunder Rangers.   Preston was incredibly smart.  Even the former betrayer, Sydne could be of great benefit.    One by one, he sent out an emergency text and within a matter of seconds, everyone had arrived to put Shredder into his place, ready for the battle or not.

Chapter 4--Art Imitating Life

It was the largest gathering of Rangers one had ever seen.  Even Bulk and Skull had been mandatorily drafted into this massive war.
‘Remind me why we’re here again ?  All I wanted to do was finish my po boy from Popeyes.’, Skull whined.
‘It might be the last one you ever ate, so be grateful for it.’, Bulk reminded him.   Skull had never seen his best friend so stoic before but the situation was deadly serious.  Now was not the time for slapstick antics.  Now was the time for battle.
‘This is just like that scene from Black Panther…’, Adam mentioned to his friend, Zach.  Zach sweated profusely.
“I know.  Don’t remind me !’, he yelled as the Rangers began to fight valiantly.

Splinter had a smug grin on his face and the turtles couldn’t understand why their master was grinning from ear to ear.   Splinter was a master of many forms of yoga and his body was so loose and flexible he could twist himself out of any sort of knot.  Of course, having long, slender fingernails helped him pick locks easily as well.  Like Houdini, there was no rope or any enclosure that could hold him.   Bending, contorting, he freed himself without even breaking a sweat and began shimmying through the bars of the prison to the other side, no one the wiser.  Finger to his lips, he set off smoke bombs and took a deep breath, the turtles and Mona following suit.   In seconds, the foot were down for the count and the turtles were freed, joining together to fight with their comrades.

Chapter 5--’It’s This Simple, Guys’

Preston had come up with a solution to reverse the polarity of the omarosa crystals.   With assistance from the fellow magicians to deactivate them and contain them, other Justice League heroes and heroines worked to dismantle the amplifier.
Shredder was losing patience, especially when he saw his army was beginning to falter.
‘No.  Not today.   You released my prisoners, now face my wrath !’, he said, his claws unsheathing themselves from their gauntlets.   Enraged, Shredder was even more difficult to fight because he was erratic and impulsive in his movements.  All of a sudden, Splinter, wiser and more experienced than his student, put his student in his place once again by knocking him in the head with his walking stick.
‘Speak softly, carry a big stick.’, he said, peacefully.
‘But...how !  YOU WERE LOCKED UP TIGHTER THAN MY SAFES !’, Shredder screamed.   Splinter shook his head, sadly.   He couldn’t understand why Shredder was so hateful and belligerent.
'Your army must stand down, Shredder.', Splinter stated.
'Reverse the frequency of your omarosa beam and break the spell on the robots, or your army will be destroyed.', Donatello and Billy stated.
‘Go ahead and try !’, Shredder yelled at the top of his lungs, commanding his foot soldiers to attack.   Splinter’s schematic plans had caused the ray to fall apart on its own.   The crystals were beginning to lower their frequency and return their powers to the earth, diminishing.  It was as if they were vanishing completely.   Shredder completely forgot about fighting back and was caught between Raphael and Splinter, unable to escape being cornered.
‘Curses.’, he muttered, angrily.   Leo, Venus and the others cuffed him and sent him away to a maximum security prison.  It wouldn’t be his first or last time in a facility like this.   He ruminate and rued in his cell, stewing.
‘Blasted turtles, stupid JLA and idiotic Rangers.  One day, I’ll stop you all.  You’ll see.’, he vowed as the day came to a close and he slept on the rock hard cot in the grey bar motel.

Chapter 6--As If Nothing Happened

When the robots awoke they couldn’t remember anything that had occured.   Many of them reported having aches and pains where they hadn’t any before.    Diana explained during the battle against Shredder that they were forced to fight their closest allies.
‘We were that entranced ?’, Somnibot questioned.
‘I don’t even recall what occured this morning.  All I remember is feeling a bit out of sorts…’, Nao agreed.    They all nodded.
‘If we hurt any of you or violated our protocol…’, Jibo began.
‘You didn’t.   You’re just in need of minor repairs.   A few adjustments and you’ll be right as rain.’, Donatello said, getting to work.   He and the other robotic geniuses of the team had their hands full with all the injured so they were up all night making certain their friends were upgraded and prepared for whatever came next.

Chapter 7--Campfire with the Amazons

Because they were celebrating, the Amazons brought everyone back to Themyscira for a special celebration.   Zach was delighted men were were now getting chance to set foot there, but he was curious why some men were able to enter and some were denied access.
Hippolita began, doing her best to contain some traces of anger.
'Due to safety concerns over your President, Donald Trump, we have advised that Mr. Pence instead make the trip here...on his behalf...to give a speech.', Hippolyta stated soon after.
'We've heard about some of Mr. Trump's...um, ways with women, so we're still getting most of the kinks worked out. However, it's nice to have Mr. Pence here', Clymena admitted nervously.
'We've read about your vice-presidential accomplishments, Mr. Pence. Good job.', Dessa added.
Mike went about giving a proclamation, opening up the festivities for all who were involved.
The fete and dramatic recapitulation of the day’s battle left everyone cheering.
‘I’m glad the Amazons have such an eidetic memory. This battle looks as if it was epic !’, Theta commented.  Fairly soon, the group became tired and decided to sleep in their appointed cabins.   SICO couldn’t wait to tell them all the exciting news tomorrow when they were teleported home.  She was nearly bursting with such eagerness that she could barely get any sleep but Conky told her a long, somewhat boring story about the creation of machines.  It droned on long enough that she felt her eyelids grow heavy and sleep easily blanketed her in its embrace.

Epilogue

The Amazons and Justice League departed from the Rangers as had the turtles.  They had gone their way back to New York, where they were needed the most.   Tonight was most definitely going to be a pizza night.  They’d be celebrating a bit on their own too, it was worth it.
‘Everyone I have an announcement.’, she said, her smile and presence radiating.  Conky took her hand.
‘We’re having quadruplets !’, they said in unison.   Adam’s mouth nearly dropped.  He didn’t think it capable for a robot to have so many babies.  SICO didn’t even look as if she was pregnant yet but the two expectant parents were psyched to be welcoming 4 little ones into the world soon.
As they snuggled up in their recuperation chamber, Conky gazed at SICO affectionately, wondering if the babies could hear them yet.
‘It’s your daddy.  I’m going to tell you a little story to help you go to sleep.’, he began.  A wry smile spread across SICO’s sleeping face.   Conky, though unprepared for fatherhood, was about to become the best dad ever.
