The Greatest Progress on Mobius

Synopsis:   King Sonic, Queen Amy and the entire court set off to engage in their largest progress yet.   They receive a challenge from an unknown planet called Toluide not too many light years from their own, demanding how they can live in synergy with their own planet while the Toluidine struggle with all sorts of pollutants and upticks in their temperatures.

Chapter 1—Off world Challenge

It was a typical day after school when Sonic and his family sat down for a hearty meal.    Amy, Sonic and their siblings chatted about how their days had gone and how training was coming along.    Everything was in perfect balance and nothing seemed out of the ordinary.   Since the defeat of Hannibal’s family and Amon becoming their ally in his newly established kingdom of Wildvania, matters seemed serene.    Something, somewhere, there was a niggling in the back of Sonic’s mind.

‘I get this sense of unrest.   It’s not on Mobius, however.’, he said.

‘I thought was flipping my proverbial quills out !’, Amy concurred.    She, too, had been experiencing visions of a place that Mobius hadn’t even heard of, let alone existed.  All of them had known that in their Universe, they were far from alone.   They were aware of infinite probabilities and possibilities, so Sonic paid special attention to his wife’s premotion.   Just then, Blade the Eagle, joined by Blaze his girlfriend brought in a communique from ‘unspecified regions’.

‘Huh.  Talk about coincidence.’, one of Tails’ children, Tesla said.

‘No such thing !’, Sonic said as he plugged in the archaic flash drive into a laptop projector.   On the screen there was a rock based entity from the planet Toluide.   All the Tolidines were crystals or rocks, but their planet was suffering immensely.

‘I am Tsar Tumult.  I have been observing Mobius since our best team of scientists discovered a method of telecommunication.   You could say we are not nearly so advanced as you, but we come offering a challenge.’, Tumult began.

‘Prove to us how your constructive collaboration works.  If we can integrate it into our current methods of extracting energy then, all is well for both our sakes.   If not, there may be a raid of your crystals to reverse engineer them, by force if necessary.’, Tumult stated.     The first part of the test seemed straightforward and nonviolent enough, but if something failed, it was likely the Tolidines would invade by force and start mining their main source of power and living.

‘We’ll do a demonstration with one of our grid simulations on Toluamide.   All the while, prepare for the eventuality that our systems just aren’t compatible.  There’s always the chance that this might happen.’, Sonic stated, candidly.

‘Hopefully, it doesn’t.  I don’t know how antiquated their technology might be.’, Sonia said.   Since getting the communique, the whole court had begun studying and it was obvious that Toluamide was eons if not millennia behind Mobius in their development.    All this had been a call for assistance from the Tsar who had exhausted all other avenues and knew that if he and his engineers didn’t develop a solution soon, the planet would die out of total loss of resources.    Their survival was certainly down to the wire, and who better to lend a helping hand than Sonic and his court ?

Chapter 2—Surely There Are Other Ways

Sonic and Amy had presented their hologram and simulation very straightforwardly.   The Tsar and his court understood everything that was presented, but given their obsolete inventions there was no possible way to integrate something so cutting edge with something so ancient and out of date.

‘We need your crystals.   We have a team that can reverse engineer them…’, one of the scientists, Crag, said, in a gravelly tone.   To be frank, the Tomatidines seemed extremely intimidating at this point, not only because they were harder than stone and could cut flesh with their own bare hands, but because of their height, width and weight in equivalence with the stones they were composed of.

‘Taking them from us won’t solve anything…’, Tails elucidated.     He said that his scientists had begun scouring the area for sources of energy that would be clean and run almost perpetually.   These sources were renewable and integrated within the environment.

‘It’s part of the same stuff you all are formed of.   It was there all along, you just didn’t know where to look.’, Tails’ wife, Zooey chimed in.   This meant that the scientists, engineers, conservationists needed to build a refinery for processing this new, cleaner alternative.

‘This might take us a while, but I won’t have to invade forcefully.   I was too shortsighted and perhaps a bit pervasive in my approach.’, the Tsar confessed.

‘I could’ve told you that, dumpling.’, the Tsarina, Aquamarine, whispered softly and lovingly in his ear.    She kissed his gritty cheek, which caused him to bioluminescence in embarrassment from the public display of affection.

Although their initial mission had been taken care of, they needed a treaty to prove that Toumaline and Mobius would be allies.   It was unknown if these giants would be friend or foe, but they had proven that they were open-minded to new ways of thinking and doing things where tradition had failed them in millennia before.

Chapter 3—Brute Force and Brain

The court and the Tsars’ retinue had seen what the other was capable of.    Sonic knew full well that these giants would be useful in battles to come if they were on a Universal scale.

‘We can give you a boost in your technology.’, Cosmo offered, giving the Tsar an electronic catalogue of gizmos and gadgets that would make life far easier for the whole planet as a whole.   It was true, they had much to catch up on, and a little extra technology would never hurt them so far as their evolution and betterment.

The Tsar upgraded what he needed to, even into building transforming mechs that could transport them wherever they wanted in their sector and beyond.

‘This is most useful !   Streamlined and practical.   I owe it to your aeronauts to fit me with the perfect mech.’, Tumult stated, gratitude in his tone.    He knew that he would have to train his son, Cairn and his daughter, Carnelian, to fight because up until now, no one had come to harass them for anything.   There was always the threat of one disillusioned maniac who would see their knowledge, brute force and resources as something to either steal or destroy.   There had been one known enemy lurking in the Cosmos, biding their time for a while.   He had come from a badger based world that was many light-years from their own.   He hadn’t known of the Toumalidians but he was a totalitarian and a despot, ruling by fear and force.    He was known as Ragnarök.    He ruled with Gidon, his devoted wife.   He had twin terrors for sons, Harm and Carnage.    He didn’t have jump technology now, but he was developing brood warfare from afar.   He wasn’t the type to sully his hands, but Tumult and his people knew one day the badgers of the planet Rogue would come to call, and he could call on Sonic to aid them.

Chapter 4—Strangeness

After the treaty of amicability was signed, Sonic and his court returned to Mobius.    While back on the planet, some unusual anomalies had started to appear.

‘Something doesn’t seem to be right…’, Daimaru, a quantum physics porpoise with a self-breathing apparatus said.    With no real reason, tesseracts had begun appearing all over the planet.    There had been all sorts of other characters literally dropping from the sky, coming in from a long sleep.    They had reports of having the same dream.   Even Angie and Rose of Sharon from a previous encounter with their favorite blue hedgehog had come in unannounced.

‘Something bigger is at work here, and I don’t have a Mobisian clue as to what it could be.’, Daimaru said, feeling a bit inadequate.    He had been scrambling to find an answer that made a semblance of sense but nothing seemed to coagulate.    He was starting to get frustrated, but in spite of that, he kept an upbeat attitude and encouraged others to also start searching for ways to solve this new issue that had quite literally dropped from the sky.

Matters had been so relatively quiet before but it seemed that the Universe itself was starting to become unhinged.   It wasn’t known of anything or anyone who could play with physics and mess with the laws of nature.    Rick and Morty and other time travelers could shuttle through time and space, but this was completely different.   This was someone testing the fabric and doing whatever they liked.   This was highly dangerous because this being, whoever or whatever they were, didn’t care for the consequences, and most likely, it was either an M or worse, the Collector and Bill Cipher had teamed up to have a bit of fun with the Cosmos.

Chapter 5—Glitches in Time and Space

Q zapped into Mobius, followed by Discord.  Both looked extremely unamused and non-plussed.

‘Is it the M again ?   Why are they making trouble ?   We merely like to stir things up, you know, for fun…’, he began.   Quanta, his daughter, shook her head.

‘Dad, this isn’t the M.  They’re not merely this experimental.   These entities have another goal in mind.’, she said swallowing.   Q looked at his kind-hearted, altruistic daughter.   She was the fabric of the Cosmos and she could see herself starting to glitch.    She didn’t care about this new development.

‘No one messes with the fabric of All.   We helped it, we maintained it.   Order and chaos can coexist, but this…this…Quanta, please.  You must help us.  You’re immortal like Us, you won’t die if you fight alongside us…At least, not that I am aware.  I won’t allow it…We will have to unite with…the M.  That is, if they will hear us.’, Q said, disapproving of his options.    It was clear that matters had become much more striated and scrambled than anyone could’ve ever wanted.    At least the tesseracts were continuously burping helpers up from their many alternate sources.   Even Captain Planet had been tossed into the mix, wondering why he had been thrown into such disarray.

Epilogue

The bizarreness had only just begun.    Q had never felt his ire boil, but he tamped it with logic and strategy.   He had come to ask the M for their help and many others from countless myriads of worlds had literally fallen onto Mobius’ lap.    Dream was there, Constantine, Doctor Fate, Doctor Strange, Zatana, Bronto, Luz, Amity and King, the heroes of Amphibia, all Pretty Cures past and present, and every iteration of hero in the compendium of heroism.    Even the Gods had joined, knowing that this concerned not only planets, but the entire Universe and Quanta’s livelihood if the Collector and Bill Cipher weren’t stopped.
