Colors in the Darkness

In the bleak midwinter
Windowpanes shimmer with colors
A kaleidoscopic array to emblazen the eyes
Everywhere I look
Gingerbread houses brighten the darkness
Just like my spark of hope
Newness shall spring from the shadows
The dawn will break again
I make peace with patience
As I glow bright
Blazing brilliantly
Just like Christmas lights.
